Pretty sure it's on purpose, kiln and smelter is a nice bonus to help you progress, losing food buffs would make sleeping detrimental.

I feel your pain. I have a 2070, i9, 16gb ram, and I'm playing the game like a pilgrim at 720p with everything turned off except vsync to get decent framerate.

Might be another issue aside from the GPU, what is your RAM situation? Bottle necking your pc is likley the culprit, first make sure you have no hardware issues.

Honestly most of these updates are fix that is not broken and change that should be not changed and just barely touch what needs some rework.

More npc's have been suggested before and I am all for it. For that matter, even static ones like the merchant would be nice. Just brings a little "life" in the otherwise pretty empty game.

Mouse wheel moves camera in and out. You can get it fairly close.

You can zoom in and out quite a bit with the mouse wheel, but no first person.

Honestly, even with the more complex, and costlier food, it would be no exagerated stress on the player if the character had to breakfeast on every morning. So natural to break the feast.
