Have had this happen. Took nearly forever, but finally got there. Kited the troll off to follow and circled around. Helps to have a high run skill.

This only happens to me when our dedicated multiplayer server hasn't updated but i have. If its happening on single player server, i don't have any idea.

i agree, stone blocks are instances of the same object, terrain modification adds polys...expecially if is extreme.

not to mention that terraforming nukes your servers performance

terrain is also sort of exploity. That is, a terrain-wall around a home is invincible to enemy (other humans can pickaxe it, but not mobs) entirely AND you can sprint UP it to go inside while they can..

I assume to discourage doing much of it and push us more towards building with stone blocks. Terraforming is the thing the engine takes the biggest performance hit from even after the patch.

100% i finished the game completely solo without any kind of cheats or exploits, it was really fun, no regrets.

Up to now, you can do all the content solo. I've played through it solo and could defeat all the bosses. It's a little bit more difficult compared to playing in a group though

Hell, it's playable multiplayer offline if Steam's willing to let you in.

This is just casting the chicken bones but have you tried copying that world to the stand alone server just in case it makes a difference?

Trench is the way to go at the moment. Unless you're building on an island, then nullifying the spawn with structures is also an option.

yeah i usually dig a 2x wide trench with a log wall on the inside of the trench.pretty much the first thing i do everytime i start a new settlement

Digging a trench is usually the easiest and fastest defense.

Clearing trees has some effect because the game likes to spawn creatures out of direct line of sight, so if there's not much cover left attack routes get more predictable.
