What were you swarmed by? You do need some sort of AOE type weapon to deal with ticks, and you have to be fast with it if you don't have the root chest piece on. A 2* tick will kill you very fast.I ge..

Twice, I put this game down after a few hours of play, months in between. I fired it up again and I am now closing in on 600 days in game. It took a few tries for things to really click for me.
