Have you tried the dvergr gates? They have no frame on them, and having a pair should be enough to allow longship to get through. Haven't yet had the opportunity to test them in practice though.

The one you have to worry about after killing Moder is the Fuling raid. It is probably the most dangerous raid in the game but none of the enemies can pass moats and raised terrain.

Zathabar's advice to have a stamina pot in your hotbar whenever you're at sea is spot on. Always having a stam pot handy when doing anything that includes large bodies of water is a lifesaver for sure..

Character and world saves are separate and are not synced by the game. That's usually where the problem occurs and its usually caused by the autosave at sun rise or sunset.
