This is a nice chill game for playing solo. It is nice having friends though in this sort of game but it's not needed.

Trolls are themselves resources. Troll hide is good armor, and easy to upgrade with a few kills.

I wasn't in there very long, but I learned that zooming in on my character makes it a little easier to see. The further back the camera is, the more mist is between it and where you're trying to look...

Maybe a mod will do it, but i don't see it that disturbing imo.

Adding to an idea Zep Tepi hit on, if you dig out around a copper vein before you mine it, the ditch will keep trolls and greydwarfs out. They can't jump: if you can walk right up it, so can they, but..

Try a different section of forest. It might not be as crowded in a different area. Sometimes when I walk through there it seems almost deserted. Move carefully and listen for the sounds the mobs make...

also make sure you have a bow. trolls are easier early with a bow. just dont get hit bro. campfires keep away the lower level mobs or a torch in the off hand
