I've seen copper like that one in the pic but with another, smaller one butted right up next to it before. Was a lot to get through.

All copper nodes have the same size. Often they are 90% in the ground and must be dug out. You always see only the part that sticks out of the ground.

It is doable solo, but you have to be extra prepared and prepare for your death. I put down a lot of portals so I can get back to my body quickly. I also use a mod that lets me take metal thru portals..
