I never ever had the horde event, in my entire 1000+ hours in Valheim. Plenty of all other types of events, but never the horde. Not sure why. But can live without it. ;)

Yep, pretty much same thing here. Game froze. I rebooted everything to come back to day 1. Map is there but all building / progress ... gone.

My apologies, but you're probably on your own here. There's way too many mods out there to say which one could cause that. ThunderStore alone lists over 1400 mods.
