there's a whole page(?) on GitHub somewhere (I think) where someone is/was compiling a list of alternative mods to replace VH+ behavior.Dunno where exactly because I don't care and always stayed clear..

The farthest you can dig down is 8 meters from starting terrain level so no, you can't flatten every thing.

yup, its a ♥♥♥♥ mechanic. could be handled differently.
