Valheim is superior to v rising pretty much every way except pvp imo. If you like pvp v rising is better.

Skip the bronze, go for iron. That's my advice. In fact, you can actually survive in the plains with iron (if needed, not necessarily recommended).

armor reduces poison damage a LOT. Bonemass, as you could probably guess from having spent more than 2 seconds in the swamp, does poison damage. It is probably not wise to try to do him in weak armor,..
