yea hard to get a 2star wolf early since its in the cold,armor,food buffs are all lower tier.i only got one early one time, made a path of campfire up the mountain and just happen to be a 2 star.caugh..

The Iron Sledge is a great weapon for dealing with a lot of "issues" but having access to it is not a given. I had one save where I was well and truly into the plains and still hadn't manage..

boars with stars can sometimes be found near rune stone (info stone) but they dont respawn there.. so if u see a good one.. capture it

As far as I know, the starred animals spawning is simply a matter of RNG... There's no certain "unlock" to have them appear, they are just rare and can randomly spawn where any non-star ones..

It would be pretty convenient yeah. A moat is part of the defense toolbox and it would look great with a draw bridge.
