I have mostly played solo until recently and lag was never a big problem. Now I;m on a server with a couple of others and at the big bases the lag is intolerable just as you say, but it isn't bad for ..

perhaps could work.. but any mob will attack a workbench .. i just terraform pathways oh and workbenches attached to trees seem to last longer than on ground :-)

I did that with a small Plains area, and I have very little issues. Not sure if night spawns are preventable when you are in the area though, and I get some overzealous visitors from surrounding areas..

P.S. The Valheim start screen has a button on the lower left corner that takes you to the worlds folder, where you can quickly and easily back up your game files before starting a new session.

Also don't rename any world files, Valheim doesn't deal well with that.
