I've heard, but can't confirm that if you start finding Obsidian deposits along the mountain, it's large enough of a biome that silver can spawn. The range of wishbone itself is small, IMO it's around..

We went high up where the drakes were only to find the skeletons. Maybe just unlucky no silver then. Or maybe we didnt dig far out enough.

Silver is usually, though admittedly not always, up high where the drakes spawn with eggs. Shaped like a Y and you dig it like you would copper.

The mountain you're on might be too small. Its the bigger mountains that are the real biome. Certain things start spawning after a certain height, including silver.

you have to restore your backup. you need to put the user folder back from your previous windows, or at least the irongate folder part of it under appdata locallow.

Try not moving the camera around while moving in a different direction, that usually helps me. Mouse sensitivity can also be a factor.
