How to train Archery post H&H?
You can no longer hit rocks to train your combat skills now. What else can you do / spam to train up your combats besides actually hitting enemies? I'm doing mutliplayer and I find that hitting my friend with arrows over and over seems to be doing it. But I'm not sure if PvP has reduced EXP rates or not.

As an added bonus, my friend is blocking and is gaining blocking levels while we're doing it. I guess this is alright for now. Gonna need a method while they're away though...

Is there a bow that gives more exp? Would Finewood bow be better to use than my +3 Draugur Fang?

Probably, I don't think the XP is bound on damage but rather on hit. So in theory, the best bow for powerleveling would be the worse one. Is there a bow that gives more exp? Would Finewood bow be better to use than my +3 Draugur Fang?

Dont draw the bow = up to 10 Arrows per Greyling
But lets be honest, mod your game or just forget it.

Maybe just play the game?
Edit: I doubt skill level matters nearly as much as learning the correct offset for range/inclination. I really didn't notice much if any difference between a new character that I started recently and my main character. The bow is pretty OP no matter what.

Skills increase the damage and speed of weapons, so its worth it.
Try hitting small trees and bushes using flint arrows. As long as you deal damage it (should) improve your skills.

No it doesnt give skillpoints anymore if you use weapons on stuff that is no enemy/not alive Skills increase the damage and speed of weapons, so its worth it.

Just make a moat/wall around a mob spawner and you'll have your own training pit, just like the good old Minecraft days.

Of course they do, but this is a game, if you just play the game your skills increase very fast.
My point was that (IMO), it is more important to increase your skill, rather than the in-game skill bonus. It takes some practice to get the angle right. When you nail that, you can 1-shot many things that you might have to either melee or shoot at a moving target of you miss.

Both is important, with no RL Skill you dont hit, with no ingame skill you need more hits to kill a enemy and you need far far longer to shoot the same amount of arrows My point was that (IMO), it is more important to increase your skill, rather than the in-game skill bonus.

Leveling up weapons used to be easy, and now they are forcing us to hit an enemy to level up the skill, which is quite redundant because you can just find a spawner in the Black Forest, and pick on the Dwarves all day long. So now it's just tedious and easy.
They could of added a way to level up skills through the damage we deal, or a craftable training dummy, or an item that increases skill gain, or... anything really. We are forced to use the lowest tier weapon and literally torture our enemies to death for hours on end. Good job dev's.

Before H&H you could make a trainingshall where you had several benefits
You was "Well rested"
And you could build structures you hit up to 8 times with one hit
So de facto they reduced the levelspeed by arround 90%

Do you have stats to back that up? I really don't notice any difference between my new and old characters. The bow one-shots most things from range if you can hit it, and I certainly don't notice that it takes "far far longer".

Make 2 Chars
Raise the skills of the second one with this char editor all to 100
https://www.nexusmods.com/valheim/mods/1536
And then play for a few minutes Char 1, switch to 2 and play some minutes and then switch back to 1
Its a extreme difference
For example with full running Skill you can hunt deers with a knife
