It worked good for me going down a mountain full if silver, the best its ever worked. I noticed if the cart seems to weigh more then 1800 you'll have a really hard time going up a hill, even with run maxed out.

When i get to mountain biome and need silver i take the materials to build a cart in my inventory up to the hut on the mountain i left all my ore in. I take the empty cart over to the side of the mountain where my boat is parked below. I leave the cart at the steepest part and run back and forth to fill it with the ore. Then i kick the cart over the side of the mountain and watch it tumble all the way down to the boat or somewhere close usually. its great.

carts need an animal. like some tamed boars or deer or wolves. then when you tame the big hairy cow things, carts dont matter.

Yea it'd be real nice if we could get beasts of burden to pull the carts.

But I haven't had problems just leveling terrain with my hoe.

I mean I agree with all what you guys are saying, I definitely pushed carts down the mountain full of silver, and yes you can swim with them, but the basic dragging through the meadows when you built a road and tried to make it a gentle slope is so painful to watch, like a tiny pebble and full speed running will not make it move. it definitely would benefit from being hitched to a boar. if only stone roads had a benefit, honestly it would just be fine like half load without but full load with a stone road.
it just feels half implemented today when it has been in the game since day 1

The fact they're still so janky is so annoying, especially for solo players, you basically have to use them unless your world transferring.

It shows how broken the thing is when its best use is to just increase storage capacity on longboats, haha.

You can swim with the carts btw. I pull mines all through the swamp. It also helps to keep your hands empty when pulling one, you get more torque that way.

I've had some limited luck humping one through the mountain biome too when mining silver, but it's honestly just easier to build a small stone tower with another smithy in a big mountain biome and just use your feet.

I haven't used one on the plains yet, there's no real need because you get the longship with iron nails and that has more than enough room for whatever you want.
As long as you have a coastal base set up I guess.

I've never ever built a road. just dont run over rocks and bushes and your golden. It's slooow though. but worth it when you carry 4000 weight in copper to your smelters.

My team makes heavy use of wagons to bring loads and loads of silver off the mountain top... its fun... and mildly dangerous
