anyone else think the new hunger mechanic is going to be.....
more tedious?, I mean it's still a nuisance to manager hunger (health and stam) I feel like after hearth and home its going to be more annoying

The only thing I dislike about new proposed system is being forced to have a countdown timer on them, I agree with Macdallan it would be nice to keep UI less busy

Why ? You will get full hp and stam the entire food duration , with a timer now
Not that crap of hp and stam degradation that u have to renew in the half of their duration

What part of what we've seen make it seem like it's going to be more tedious? Unless I missed something, everything that's been shown has only suggested that management of food & food buffs will require less maintenance than at current.

With new food and food combinations being designed for H&H it should balance out better. Just a new learning curve for players to figure out. No biggie IMO...

You eat health foods for more health, you eat stam foods for blocking etc etc, obviously you will need to eat both to get the right balance

Just right now thats not work like that, what u said ?, serpent stew have 2400s duration , in 1200s u have 40/40 and need to re eat to renew that 80/80 ... That sucks to me
End game food its full balanced : serpent stew 80/80 lox meat pir 80/80 fish wrap 60/90
Maybe food get a nerf in max handicap but dont know how much because devs will add so much food in that update

I don't want food timers and I don't want this to turn into Master Chef - Valheim Edition. I like the current system. It's simple and it works. I don't want to keep track of multiple timers and I don't want a bunch of countdowns on my screen. The food bar is the better option. I don't like all the timers and icons they keep adding to the screen, it's cluttering up the UI and are unnecessary. The icons over animals are mistake, too. They were never necessary and only serve to ruin immersion. I think the best plan would be to keep the UI clean and simple, no timers, no icons in the main play/view area. If they can't give us that or too many people want easy mode with icons telling you the status of everything on screen then they should consider giving us the option to toggle this stuff on or off so people who want to play countdown and have icons over animals can have that, and those of us who don't want a bunch of clocks, icons, and indicators on the screen will be happy, too.

It will be a challenge, but if you've ever played survival games like 7 Days To Die, Ark, Conan Exiles, etc this is really nothing new, and quite easy to manage once you get the hang of it. I already carry about 100lb of cook meats, and meals on my character at all times because of habit from playing survival games.

Im with you on this one. To me this is an explanation game. There are plenty of options and mods for those into homesteading and creative mode

You don't "need" to eat both, using whatever you have at hand isn't going to make you particularly weak, just not specialized. The tweaks allow players to refine their playstyle by modifying their stats and changing what food items they want to farm for. Don't like farming crops? Skip crop foods. Want more hp? Go hunting.
Keep in mind we already have this exact system with early/midgame foods having some great diversity and choices, though the choices get limited around the time you hit plains where it's all lox pies, blood pudding, and fish tacos, occasionally with serpent stew in place of one of those if you can afford it.
