DEVS! Why they "Sought" me? When i didnt kill their boss?
So all this unfair challanges what Mistlands brings i can leave with, or at least try to but this one? The random base raid event comes when i try to grind my gear up to date in the mistlands. In 20-30 ingame days, i already had 4 Mistland creature raids on my base... It's has far the most probablility. And it shouldn't even happen, because i am far from killing the mistland boss, hence i dont even have enough material to build both Crafting stations...
You (Devs) added new ways to defend my base, but it is so end of the ladder, By the time i can build ballista, i will already will finish the game and wait for the next update...
****SPOILERS AHEAD****
Other Notes:
- The Sap extractor thing which i have to get from the dwarves, is a stupid mechanic. To able to advance from the Plains gear, i reallly need that extractor, but to get that, i have to beat the strongest creatures of the biome, and they attack you in big groups... wth? Killing those folks, should be our last job on the biome, before the BOSS,
* I understand i can trick them buy pulling multiple insects to their base, but it shouldn't be our only option to progress...*
- The new cloak is awesome, but why you make so hard to get it, when i get it, i already got almost everything from that biome, it sould be available at the same time as the Wisplight...
-The new gear is very underwhelming, hence we can only upgrade it to lvl2, if there is developement needed to implenet future crafting table extensions in the time being remove the prerquisites ...
- And again the "They Sought you Out" event should not happen before the Boss kill. It did destroy my base 100% 2 out of 4. and i dont have enough tools to have a fair fight with them....
I dont care if i died like 30 times since the update, and i have to get back my gear, if i am the one who is responsible for those deaths, but i think like 25of30 times, it was inevatable death.... Which leads frustrations, which leads to ALT+F4

I did succumb to using devcommands, but to actually trigger army_seekers to see if my Meadows base was completely useless. Yes and no. A seeker was able to fly up into my compound and attack me but was easy to fend off with normal padded armor and black metal set - typically events use a nerfed variant of the creature. The soldier did not fly and was just shrieking in my moat but destroying my stone staircase. Just stood up on my wall and peppered it with wood arrows from Drauger Fang - but in its hind quarters as suggested by Mistlands veterans. About 40 arrows later and I got the mandibles, carapace and soldier trophy. Nice! So all is not hopeless but you do need to carry out your normal activities ready for anything. No more lounging about the Meadows base in Fenris armor.

Soldiers don't fly in mistland either, I can fight them when i am prepared, no problem, but when i am chilling at my base, i don't want to eat honey glazed chicken, and other top tier food, and i also like to go afk and leave things there sometimes (let the crop grow, the eitir refining...) but since they found me i cant.... untill i totally redisgn my base, i need to build it like a nuclear shelter... but it takes a lot of grind in mistland, and in the meantime my base is in constant danger...

Devcommands is your friend.
Thanks for the tips, but i hate cheating, when i was a kid, i bought the local gamer magazine for cheat codes (before the internet), and my father told me? "don't use those, if you can't play a game fair, you won't able the play the life fair..." after 30 years, i still keep his advice.
But, yeah, turning off those events are really tempting hence i don't think it should work the way it works now.
I am Sorry for your Boars.

Excellent topic since prior to Mistlands the "Horde is attacking" was seen as an unfair event since it exposed Meadows bases to goblin mobs even before the player had been to the Plains. Possibly one difference here is that if the player had done the usual precautions and had built their Meadows base on raised terrain surrounded by a moat and with stone then the goblins would just run around (except for those fireballs from the shaman) and the player could enjoy a cup of tea and simply wait it out. And most of us learned to construct such bases due to "Ground is shaking" which, while a shock, was not our first exposure to Trolls. So if there was one tweak I might suggest to our developers it might be to structure this new event more like the "Ground is shaking" or "You stirred the cauldron" where you do have to kill one of these creatures in order to trigger the event. Then fair is fair. You kill us, we attack you.

As a general rule, I agree. I play without cheats or mods. I disagree with, for example, the inability to teleport metal. But I don't cheat, mod, or cheese the system and I sail my ore like a good little viking. However I think it's an unnecessary mechanic ... you're already limited by weight to carry about one stack of ore so the additional obstacle is just inconvenient (as clearly demonstrated by all the players who mod/cheat/cheese around it anyway). Yet the devs have taken a hard stance on it.
I feel like the game is changing and layer upon layer of such obstacles are now appearing. Making us kill the Dverger isn't challenging ... it's pointless. You finally get the "extractor" and can't use it ... it's just one component of the "Sap extractor" you have to build. Why the extra step? Why make us "build" it? Oh wait, then you discover you can't teleport the extractor! You can't teleport your metal to the extractor or the extractor to your metal. Yet another arbitrary obstacle to overcome. I don't see the "gameplay value" in jumping hurdles just for the sake of jumping hurdles.
Most of the time, Valheim is great and player efforts are rewarded. Progression in the Mistlands is locked up behind so many gates I don't feel like I'm progressing at all. Actually the opposite since I'm burning through resources (food, arrows) with little to show for it.
As you say...
It has become too tempting for me now. Any one of the questionable design choices when looked at in a vacuum is no big deal. But they have stacked to the point I feel like I'm fighting game mechanics, not mobs. But, yeah, turning off those events are really tempting hence i don't think it should work the way it works now
I've over the "death penalty" ... when I die in seemingly impossible situations I now use ghost mode to go recover my gear and pick up where I left off.
I'm on my second playthrough of Mistlands and as soon as I "find" a Dverger crate, I will just spawn up a "Sap Extractor" because killing them and what follows is pointless.
I was hard-core "no cheating" and now it's "no cheating, well, except for ..."

I understand it works this way but imo it shouldn't, those raids should happen when you already proven your self in the biome...
Completely opposite. Your enemies will disperse once you've dealt them a deathblow by eliminating their leader.
"Proving yourself in the biome" is entirely subjective concept. Valheim is a brutal exploration and survival game. You deserve a breather once you achieve the objectives set for you by the game in Odin's name.

imo, the grinding part of the mistland is not that bad, only the sequencing of the unlocks, is a bit out of place for me. I think there should be an option to interact with the dverger's, like they give you a quest and in return they give you the extractor, or you could buy from the for money or materials found on other biomes. But this one that they are friendly, and welcoming and even if you really like them you have trap or kill them and steal their precious stuff, it kills the immersion for me. I know Vikings were like that in real life, i mean they raided villages/towns, but i wanted to be a good Viking, not a damn thief...
All that being sad, this post is meant to be get clarifications from the dev team, if this event is intentional? (if yes i question their game designing capibilites) Or it is only a bug. Because i think it is very unbalanced as rn, they can't be fought fairly until you master the Mistland Biome, but they start to harass you way before than you would ever have the chance. And I ain't no whining kid, I played Diablo3 in HC mode, and when my 300+ hours old monk died because of a disconnect, 2 days later i started a Wizard...

It's all good
Its fun to get my ass handed to me in the swamp with level three troll armor
So I usually cheese it. It works well with sneak. Just massive stamina stuff, sneak, stop at 1 tick of stamina, wait, sneak more, loot crypt, drop stash, repeat.
Idk what I need for the next zone. I wanna get to mistlands in the correct order.
After swamp, I'm going mountains, right?

just a short story from yesterday.: finally made a small marble outpost in middle of mistland, with the new crating station, we wanted to craft the new armor with my friend, so went out for some Hare hunting, but just before that they sought us out.... obliterating us, in front of our small bunker, ok no worries we have teleport, at the mainbase we ate the best possible foods, inventory empty, so we can quickly pick up our gear, but no, they already destroyed lot of stuff, so when we opted to pick up our gear swiftly, it was prompting what to take, because of autopickup took some stuff (i know we should have turn that off... ), so we got killed again, and in the process, they destroyed the portal... so our top gear left in the heart of a mistland biome. Then i had to call my friend, who i played with on release i rembembered he must have level 4 padded armor, to login and lend me his gear, or take an escort mission... So escort mission was it, and finally it was successful. I can't deny it felt rewarding, but also so unfair at the same time....

That's how all the "boss faction" events work AFAIK.

The wiki[valheim.fandom.com] has updated information on this event. Yes, they will attack when you kill Yagluth and yes they eat stone fortifications so those very secure Meadows fortresses we built need marble to withstand the attacks.

Anyway, this is big factor for me that prefvents me to play to just chill, and cook and gradening in my base, because now i can't chill untill i get like 2000 marble...
I will discuss it with my friend to start a new world, and don't kill the bosses, because this is just absurd imo.

Devcommands is your friend. After posting about my awesome 2 star boar farm yesterday I had the Forest is Moving. No matter what I did the mobs kept attacking my boars. I could not pull aggro. I couldn't tell if my pigs were even fighting back. That many two star boars should have obliterated the attack. In the end they were all dead.
That's what I consider an unplayable game mechanic. I just spawned in more boars, then tamed them with devcommands. When the forest moved again I just used devcommands to killenemies. I enjoy progression in games. Valheim does a little too much wind in my face to want to play it as the devs intended. Life is too short.
There is a mod that stops the events. I have not tried it, but it's tempting.

btw, i just grinded the top gear, lv2, mistland gear: sword and shield, and clothes... and it's perhaps a tad better than the previous gear: I went mining ancient armor, after two hits a Gjail spawned, i shoot with silver arrow, i had to drink a fire res, two stamine, two major healing... and no i didn't stay in one ground, sprinted, dodge rolled... I was lucky this time wasn't there a 1star soldier, 1 star seeker, and two normal seekers like last time...
