We need a pack of A.I. followers for singleplayer!
Would be nice if you could run around with half a dozen henchmen that arent just tamed wolves that die and you lose hours of work taming them. Maby even have a dozen villagers once your base is big enough. Adding an Overlord/sims element to the game where you have a lil community with good A.I. will keep this game immortal. Has there been talk of something like this from the devs?

Im not too much of a fan of having a tail dragging behind me in games and usually prefer if people can manage themselves if nobodys required to lead which usually is only required in few mmos with content demanding enough to need team coordination in combat to counter mechs in a specific way to avoid dying.
But something simple like a slave should at least be history relatable and Vikings usually treated slaves as family .. 'more or less', questionable if it would ever be added due to pr or similar variables but some form of ai capable of automatically creating your favourite foods as long as theres a supply of resources in your storage boxes then this type of AI would at least make the world feel less empty in a different way.
If not simply taking care of crops, repairing damaged structures or something

Well yeah. If there was an option to leave the npc at the base it would work great i think. Atm we have skeleton minions that go away over time? I havent really played the new updates. Im waiting until all biomes are out.

it only leaves pure speculation what the future might bring, theres so many things that feel flat in the game even if its playable and thousands of hours can be invested in crafting aloneIm not too much of a fan of having a tail dragging behind me in games and usually prefer if people can manage themselves if nobodys required to lead which usually is only required in few mmos with content demanding enough to need team coordination in combat to counter mechs in a specific way to avoid dying.

but lets just say they say one thing but do another, quite a lot apparently.
"followers a no no" adds anything from haldor, lox with riding that has its own progression scale to diminish stamina consumption, wolves with follow/stay command that can deal damage at above iron weaponry if 2 star, cattle for food and etc..
the developers already have the pathing so the nav work obviously isnt unfamiliar to them either.. so that isnt new .. the mesh/texture/animation can simply be copy pasted from current female/male player character models until a later notice and etc and etc..
personally i dont see that its impossible unless devs say no "and actually mean it" this time

We have that, just have to beat nearly all of the existing game first.
But personally, pets and followers are more likely to get me killed by drawing the aggro of things I'd rather not deal with than be of any help, not to mention getting hung up on terrain.

Yeah, some agro settings for your followers would be nice. Maby an option for them to sneak around? Some games give your NPCs heightened sneak skills so they wouldnt mess up your ninja vibes :D
