I am enjoying the hell out of the Mistlands. It is a major update.

There are some things they could tweak. It's too easy to get Misthares. The mist is a bit much (but it does seem to clear once you have pacified an area) etc.

I don't know what it is about the Mistlands but it just misses the spot for me somehow. I don't mind the mobs at all. Well I do curse when a 2* seeker lands on my head but the biome itself is just meh. If I had to rank the biomes for my faves it would be a little like this

Plains>=Mountains>Blackforest>=Meadows>Swamp>Mistlands.

Just wanted to say thanks again. It's working..sort of. But yeah, worst biome for sure. I'll probably be putting the game away for a while til they add another. I've done all the previous biomes many many times, and thoroughly enjoyed it every time but have no interest in doing this one any more than I absolutely have to.

I'm sorry but removing sight from a video game might just be the stupidest thing I've ever seen, and I've been gaming since it was a thing.

Oh well, Icarus had some fantastic updates lately so I won't be bored.

They totally destroyed the fishing too. I put my rod away and will probably never use it again. It used to be my favorite pasttime in the game....oh well :P

I've just discovered the Mistlands, and so far not a fan. I get it...It's in the name, MIST lands but really the small area Iv'e explored I can barely see anything not right in front of my face. I use Epicloot mod and if I hadn't found that featherfall cloak almost instantly I'd have been taking fall damage constantly. I was fighting something, close enough to hit it with a hammer but could barely make it out. And no I don't want to turn down my graphics to make the game playable, that's not a fix, that's a broken game.

Please tell me the whole place isn't like this?

There's just as much variety as there is in every existing biome. There can be relatively open areas populated by dvergr outposts and quarries or entirely mist-free valleys and shores for example. But it is hard to find out about them due to, well, the mist.

I was afraid of that, having to just stumble around blind til you find the clear areas.

Too bad. I've put hundreds of hours in this game and loved it since launch. I can't for the life of me see why anyone would want to play something you can barely see.... it's not longer fun, it's an annoyance at every turn til I luck into a clear spot?

Oh well, I've got other games to dust off.

Did you explore old mistlands that was all barren & nothing there? if so the terrain will come out janky, I did this on the border of a plains I settled in, but the terrain is all over the place, I'm not quite sure how to describe how it looks, but almost as extreme as the correctly generated Mistlands proper.

tldr if you are talking about previously explored terrain, I agree. But otherwise the new terrain looks crazy wild.

It used to be a challenging unique biome. It actually does look good if you take time to explore it. Unfortunately now they've nerfed the ai and it's so easy that it just feels like a repetitive grind. The terrain now feels like a slog because there is no excitement to go with it.

I found the new weapons to be pretty nice.
