This is the real answer. If you enjoy most of the game but hate other parts, mod the parts you hate and enjoy all the game. It is your game. You paid for it. Make it play like you want. Mods. Use 'em.
^^^^^^ I like this!!!
My angst is that I feel like a great game shouldn't "need" cheats/mods/cheese. Valheim is a great game ... but the issues are starting to stack up and I feel I'm being pulled to the dark side and may have to turn to mods if I want to continue to enjoy it.
Lots of rage-quits. Sad to see.

Yep. I love Valheim, but I absolutely hate the inventory limitations, durability, and general stamina usage for non-combat activities. So I download a mod to increase my slots, carrying capacity, increase durability, and reduce stamina usage for things like the hoe, pickaxe, and fishing pole. This is the real answer. If you enjoy most of the game but hate other parts, mod the parts you hate and enjoy all the game. It is your game. You paid for it. Make it play like you want.

Now I don't have to make a thread about me rage-quitting the game because I'm not!

True. A great game shouldn't need mods. I've played and enjoyed many games without feeling the need to mod. Those games tend to have a focused game loop. My angst is that I feel like a great game shouldn't "need" cheats/mods/cheese.
Some games with a broader appeal, however, benefit from modding. Valheim has survival, building, farming, fighting, boss fighting, exploring, sailing, resource gathering and so on, it would be near impossible to please everyone with balances. It is more likely players will enjoy a few parts and be bored or frustrated with the rest.
If I were unable to mod Valheim, my playtime total would be 10 hours. I got to the point where not porting metals was tedious and wanted to quit and play anything else. Instead I modded and have hundreds of hours enjoying the game. Who lost in that situation? Nobody. The devs had another happy player and I had more fun with a good game.
Modding is not a sin. Go forth and make your game great and play like you want.

Dont expect the same strategies that worked for previous enemies to work for the mistlands enemies. You may have to change it up. Some things arent always easy.

Mods or dev commands, I feel that the makers of this game want this game played way differently than most its player base. I don't want to spend 100 hours building a bast to have it destroyed in a single raid. I also don't want to play this game just making bare bones bases.

Valheim Plus allows you to set death penalty to 0, among other things.. Try downloading r2modman (platform for easy mods download and configuring) and give it a shot. im tired for lost skill every time I die, I did work so hard for level up skill but die a lot in mistlands, Its not fun lost skill after work so hard, so I quit
