The game isn't over and drop wasn't even real. Just a placeholder.

You really want them to take time and money away for a song and dance when they could be working on the game? Why?

Do you seek validation in your life through video games so they need to tell you when you get to a certain point?

I honestly wondering what you want to be told.. "Thanks for playing, wait for new content"?
It isn't over just from beating the last available boss.

I think a lot of people would be pretty upset when the game finally does get an "end" that it takes you away from the world you built up. But even Odin showing up to say "Thanks buddy" seems a bit premature at this stage.

Not wasting time on temporary content like that is a good sign. It means they intend to finish the game.

Given that this is being played as an Early Access title, they should at least add a message saying exactly that.

It is surely better to work on content that is going to stay in the game than work on a temporary ending that won't.

I really expected to see the platform in the middle of the boss trophies light up and teleport me to the top of the tree. There I would have met Odin who would have given me a crazy power, or an overpowered weapon, or answers, or something ... I expected something to happen, even just seeing the crow come and say that "blah, your adventure is not over, challenges are coming, get ready, blah".

No, all I got was a boss drop named "boss drop placeholder" and the sound of the wind. It's terribly disappointing after 150 hours. What idea to release a game in this state? They will just disgust people.

For what this game cost me, I've already gotten more than my moneys worth out of it. I'm still enjoying the hell out of it.

Someone can spend 1000 hours playing cards in "The Witcher", it will not change whether the end of the game storyline is good or bad. For me you are irrelevant. I know you can have fun for a long time in a sandbox. I even said that I played 800 hours on ARK.

But Valheim clearly promises us a storyline with an ending. Except that this end, when will I see it? In 10 years ? LoL. In short, it's a shame, they should have started by making an ending and adding prerequisites as new bosses were added.

It's released in this state because it isn't finished. It will annoy some people - I've seen it happen with other Early Access games - but I don't think it's something the developers should be worrying about. It's not their fault if there are people who will buy an Early Access game and complain when it isn't, or doesn't feel finished. It's par for the course when the game is still being developed and people who want or expect a finished game should wait until it leaves Early Access.

Because there, in how long will we have an end? There are still 3 biom to do ... That means in several years ... It is not a good way to do it.

IronGate will add a proper ending to the last boss, when they get there. Right now, they are doing Milestone 2 of an early access game, focused on the Mistlands biome with the new boss. In other words, the last boss you defeated so far, wasn't the last boss. It was the last boss so far.

So whether you think IronGate should have made a proper ending or not, is a moot point, because it isn't the last boss of the v1.0 game. As of today, Valheim is at version 0.205.5.

this is version 0.2xx which means that it represents what they think of as about 20% of the first full release.. so this is the tutorial.. Yagluth is the boss at the end of the tutorial.
