Sometime in April or so last year, they made an optimization to terrain that seems to have fixed a lot of FPS issues people were having. However, if it was the number of instances caused by your base build and not terrain, you're unlikely to see an improvement in that area.

That's my two cents; hopefully someone can tell you I'm wrong.

Have a look at the requirements for the game.... There is no Ryzen Ryzen 7, 32 GB Ram 3800 GHZ , SSD drives, 2x Nvidia Quadro K6000 24 GB. There is a Quattro CPU with 3Ghz, 8GB RAM and an old Single GRaphic Card announced.

I use an i7 with 3Ghz, 16GB RAM and an GTX 1660 Super..... And when i visit our small Town (4Players) i have 3FPS when nothing is in Progress..... when spinning, melting or something else i go down to 1-2 FPS.....

Yeah thats the Time i need an Update for a Horde of Goblins which i cant fight at 1FPS.... When there is an announcement of minimum Requirements than it should be playable at this requirements and low FPS are not playable!

Done plenty cant see an issue.

On massive scale.

my CPU runs at 19oc idle 25 with this game, GPU's 60%, I think allot want a bit of minecraft and or just dont have the rigs to run this game

So they bad mouth it, superb game just needs that extra pc power.

This is to be expected with early access games. I'm sure it's pretty boring having to hear this, but it is what it is. Optimization is usually something you should expect toward the end of a development cycle. And yes i'm pretty sure they play their own game, i mean what do you believe they do?


Personally i only have motion blur turned off, shadows to medium and everything else at high. View distance at high instead of very high makes a huge difference with me. I play with 16ram, i7 4790 and RX 580, very modest pc with ca 55 fps on average.
I don't however build a big base etc.. I only build what i need to do what the game guides me to do. Seek and destroy bosses because after all, the game is early access.

There is a lot of people with huge pc specs having problems anyway ( use the search and look ) , how many instances u have in your base to say that its a pc problem xD ? ( i hope u gonna say 30k+ )
Its an optimization problem that can have an EA , not the pc

Dramatically less than it used to (25 FPS up from 10 FPS in highly modified areas), but we'll need to wait for the next major update for a proper fix. Anything above 20k instances kills performance.

just built a new Ryzen Pc, cant go near extreme, best i am getting is 60FPS and drops to 45 with fire.

Are all terrain modifications cumulative for the entire map, or can you increase the FPS when you move to a new area, or both have an effect. Currently my instances are under 2.7 K but I currently am only about 1/5 through the game. My FPS is about 14. I was wondering how carful I need to be with terrain modification. To mine copper you need to do a lot of digging which is a lot of terrain modification.

I do believe instances are only based on the area within your local render range.

its just the area youre in. not the entire map
