is this intentional or this game is a buggy mess?

I know that these annoying mechanics like enemies atacking literally every damn think we build are common and part of gameplay. But I was pretty sure that we get all resources from destroyed objects. Meanwhile when they destroy my boat when im far af from home, I'm not receiving 75% of resources. These literally disapears after destruct. Is it normal or another bug?

Edit: You don't need devcommands in single player. I never lost an armor. I died often, but never lost anything. Your tombstone can't sink. You can just boat there and pick yourself up.

The spikes are dealing damage so they are consumed like arrows when they contact enemies.

Still don't understand the reason. So they deal damage, so what? You can repair them, but you can't pick them up and place them somewhere else?

Just doesn't click for me. It's not a one-shot thing like an arrow.

I'm only explaining the most likely reasoning for it.
I should also mention however I never use them because they are used up when they serve their purpose. Also I would probably use them more if pine trees dropped more core wood. Like most things in this game, the recipe requirements and upgrade requirements are not balanced for single player play and the game needs rebalancing here as it already does in terms of number of monsters that spawn and overall difficulty of spawning mobs in relation to total player count.

I disagree here, the game has felt pretty well balanced from Meadows to the Plains.

When you think about it, the space you need for a base and all that goes into it does not change much as the number of people is increased. The only thing that really goes up is the amount of people collecting resources. As a result it doesn't take as long to build a shared base.
If you feel the game is well balanced in the amount of resources you derive from activities, it means you have a higher threshold for grinding than most people as this is a very common and easily remedied criticism of this game.
Edit: The same applies to armor, while collecting resources for the grindy set, you are going to encounter the enemies that make up the archer set, two great sets of armor and you can only wear one at a time. This means two people can collect for one set but one person can only collect the resources for the main armor at half the rate.

You should get 100% back on almost everything. Just got to be careful that things do not roll or sink out of reach

Items like nails usually sink, check underwater. Always destroy your boat in shallow waters.
Valheim isn't a buggy mess at all for an early access title.

Sounds frustrating to not be certain what's up..

The game is tough in a rather unforgiving sense after all, so it's probably not a bug.

how long until you get back to your boat?

First, basically in an unmodded game, most (all?) resources sink. So they might be there but too far to collect without getting up somewhere high and jumping into the water in that spot.

Second, I think items disappear after awhile if you're not near them. So if by far away you mean they destroyed the boat and you came back days later to find nothing there it might make sense. If it is a case of being out of sight but coming back minutes later, the resource probably sunk.

so this must be a problem, why I'm loosing nails sometimes, but I think it's kinda PUBG effect, when developers creating annoying mechanics which seems to be realistic but they forgeting about other realising stuff totally ruining immersion and making world less logical. Like if something sink under water, then why we still can't dive after over a year of early access?

Agreed. The most common loss from a boat for me were the nails. Sometimes in water deeper than is reachable.
If in shallow water, close to shore, you can build steps/ladders up to a height where you can jump off and dive deep enough to grab them.

I just checked the place and there are no nails under water, boat got destroyed like 15 minutes ago, so it's impossible that these disappeared already. Btw. are deer's hide also sink, because these disappeared to.

Not sure what is wrong with your game, cause nothing of these effects have ever happened to me. Not saying that it can't, but it seems highly unlikely.

Are you using mods? Or did you ever use mods?

I've encountered very few bugs if any. It's all intentional.
Somewhat unrelated, but for solo play, I recommend people enable devcommands to avoid situations that would not as easily arise in multiplayer play like losing your only suit of armor under a mile of water. Not to say you can't avoid it once you know about it, but discovering it is less punishing.
