Yeah, I had one super close to the south west section of my starting continent. By the time I actually got around to farming it, I already had a longboat available, but I was on foot in the area at the time and was intending to cross the straight to the new Island anyway to set up a secondary base near the Mountain biome, so I gently rafted over with portal supplies and carried on my merry way after clearing the leviathan.

I left mine there for the view. I could even swim to it and look at my base from offshore.

I had one like these in the Black Forest. Was fairly close to the coast, you could almost swim to it.
