I wouldn't hold your breath for anything. I expect the devs to disappear at some point when the money runs out. Or some more empty promises after mistlands drops to get a new crop of suckers to drop money on the game to keep their banks going for another few years while they work on another update at a leisurely pace. Don't get me wrong it is a good game. But don't expect any development on any timetable that would merit any serious consideration.

they took the money and bought a horse, so theres no more content

QoL features and biome upgrades like new foods, armors, monsters would be rolled into incremental updates like 0.31 and 0.32, etc.. i assume they're saving the 0.x numbers for big stuff like whole biomes or maybe a big UI upgrade or NPCs that build like we do or something..

i guess Mistlands will be 0.3, so there may be 7 more biomes planned

Or they could add more plants and animals to each biome, introduce new types of mobs like wandering traders, or mobs with neural-net brains: The ones that kill you get to breed.

There are meta-game features like a control panel to decide the rules of the current game: death penalty, etc. locking those rules into that game so that once the game is started they cannot be changed. Keeping track of your statistics: how many mobs of each type did you kill, how much loot did you amass, in what amount of time and under what rules.

QOL features. What can I make with onions?

And as far as when content update will stop for this game, of course that's only something the devs can tell you. Stop fretting then about something you don't have control over and really have no ability to foresee and just either play or shelve and do something else of course.
