All Bobucles recommendations are spot on. I flattened the area with a hoe, built a spiked wall enclosure around Bonemass' altar, to keep adds out and even put single roof piece campfires along the inside of the wall for quick rest, stamina regen. The wet debuff kills stamina & health regen, and the mace is the weapon of choice against virtually all swamp mobs except Abomination (which really hates axes).

It is very important to have that rested buff happening for stamina regen as so many have pointed out. Always a good idea to have a portal shack near a boss fight. I always have a master portal in my HQ bedchamber, which is my go to set spawn point. I will set that portal designation to the nearby boss portal eg; "Moder Dock" when I am ready to undertake a boss fight. At the foot of my bed is a chest with a second set of gear, food, potions, ammo, so recovering my tombstone right away is optional. I is a good idea when fighting mobs like Bonemass & Moder, where the environment almost always keeps that wet and or cold debuff on, to make a nearby sheltered campfire or two. I had 3 covered fires going up against Bonemass, that were tucked in behind some logs tangled with trees, on the lee side of a hill facing away from Bonemass' altar.

low skill lvl with your weapon, being wet, not having well rested bonus, lacking stamina rich food. All or a combinations of these things should be the culprit but generally in Valheim stamina management is a skill in of itself.

It's also worth nothing that even with well-rested, not cold, not wet, stamina foods, and slamming down tasty meads, this game has trash stamina regen. Most fights you spend more time jogging in circles around the enemy until you have enough stamina to dodge/parry, then actually get some swings in.

Regarding running and jumping - do it all the time when not in a risky situation to build up your skill level. When you then use them in a conflict it will produce a greater effect and require less stamina.
I improved my jump skill to the point where I can take damage if jumping downward on a mild slope :steamhappy:

What @Bobucles and @Complaintdesk wrote.

I didn't have to put a stake wall up, because I cleared the area of mobs before my fight, but it might give a sense of security. Other than that, good advice!

Isn't there an issue where skills or something don't work right for clients?

Did that ever get fixed?

Whenever there is a stamina issue, there is always those 3 that are causing the problem:
1. Presence of debuffs.
2. Lack of right buffs.
3. Overusing your stamina resources.

1. Make sure you're not trying to fight it during night, or else your Wet debuff will be boosted by Cold debuff. Start the fight in the morning if you're not sure you can kill it until the dawn.
2. Make sure you're eating enough food that grants stamina. Sometimes, having more stamina means taking less hits, so you don't have to go all health, even versus bosses. Always have the Resting buff. Maximize the Resting duration. Make sure you're combining your basic food into super meals to maximize the bonuses. You don't have to always eat them. You can reserve the best food for boss fights. Preserve your Eikthyr buff for when your Resting buff is depleted/to make the final push. Brew yourself some stamina potions and Mead to speed up your stamina regeneration.
3. Don't necessarily jump or run or shoot. Conserve your hits. You can raise the ground around the Masses spawnpoint to make it easier for you to run around without being slowed down by water/so you don't have to jump over it. Upgrade your weapons so you have to do less hits, and upgrade your armor so you have to evade less.

The most important stamina asset is the well rested bonus. Plan your adventures around having it, and retreat to base to refresh it. Get into the habit of exploring at dawn, and retreating/portal to base in the evening. A high level rested bonus can last the entire day.

Parrying (super block) has a large stamina penalty. Upgrade the bronze buckler to an iron shield and use normal blocks.

Avoid sprinting. There are very few reasons to sprint against bonemass. Constant stamina stress such as jumping/dodging/bows will block stamina regen. Trust the power walk, standard movement can handle most threats.

Flatten the arena with a hoe before the fight, to eliminate water hazards and remove jump obstacles.

Power up with poison resistance. Tasty mead/stamina potions can be used in a pinch for fast stamina regen.

The iron mace is the choice weapon for the swamp. It has good handling and most swamp enemies are weak to it.

Low maximum stamina literally means hitting zero stamina more quickly. However in fact it doesn't really affect your stamina regen speed. So the best practice is just having enough stamina and eat as much health food as you can. You only need to get used to the fewer attacks + shorter recovery time fighting style, but the extra health gives you more survivability.

If you mean the low stamina regen instead, probably it is because of lack of Rested buff and combination of Wet + Cold debuff?

This chart helps a lot, btw. Best mixes of food items sorted by biome-level, sum of health and stamina.

There are several components to keeping stamina at a useful level. Food type, Rested status, how high it was to begin with, frequent use of stamina burning activities, your testosterone levels ;-)

^ Good advice above.

Also, learn not to jump unless you really needed to...like to get over a stump or downed tree. Jumping/repeated jumping eats a lot of stamina. Jumping was my biggest downfall back in the early days. Oh, and run/walk management is important too. Only run when needed when in fights. Stamina is golden. Skal!

1. Food, food, food. No good food, no stamina. Get the best your biome can make.
2. Rested bonus is the second most important one. Without it, your stamina regeneration is really low. The wet debuff never really hurt me that much, since my rested bonus clearly had the upper hand here. Without it, though... Yeah.
3. Depending on your "class" you need different food builds. HHS for tanks, HBS for melee DDs, HSS for bow and arrow. As a tank you really need to be good at managing your stamina levels, but it usually should be no problem, if the above conditions are met.

H = Health
B = Balanced
S = Stamina

This reminds me of my first meeting with a 2star wolf (before H&H) and various attempts to get my stuff back. Ahhhh, good old funny Valheim times :)

Oh no! Legendary xGAMERxGURLx archetype has formally declared this topic is no longer worth discussing. Don't you dare voice a negative opinion about the glorious update that allows her to get more shekels from streamsimps for just hanging around her base and cooking food (which is ironic). Better archive this thread immediately, as this is clearly a dead topic and the matter has been settled. Take that incels!

The stamina system is still broken and annoying and makes the game much less fun to play.

The stamina hasn't changed at all btw, only food and stamina drain on weapons have changed. So basically stop using Black Metal weapons that you are not proficient in, stop holding the run button all the time, and stick to stamina food if you like stamina so much. And of course, stay rested.
