Is there a way to stop this game from hitching?

I have a 5900x paired with a gtx 1080, but even when I load in on a empty world, the game occasionally hitches. Mostly when turning around. Is there no way to resolve this issue on my end or do we just have to wait for developers to just finish the game before it will "hopefully" be fixed?

I'm not sure to understand what "hitching" is, but if, by chance, your are referring to the blurriness when you turn around, it's a designed feature that can be deactivated in the settings. LIkewise, there's a "tunnel"-effect when you speed up.

If it's more like a visual stutter, then the issue is on your end, and you should check your FPS. Look for Valheim or Unity tweaks on YT; they say that there are some lines to change in the .ini files, but I can't warrant the result.

No i'm not talking about motion blur. I'm talking about when the game attempts to create a scene and its so heavy on your cpu / gpu that it creates a stutter or a micro stutter. I"m getting 70 fps.

My assumption atleast, is since nothing in the world is populated until you start running around and it starts loading in animals and monsters, perhaps that is was occasionally creates the stutter? Although I have a SSD so loading shouldn't be a issue.

Sorry, I play on a old rig, and being around 10-20 FPS, I experience a slow down at some occasions, but no stutter. Perhaps this is due to video settings (there are video guides around to advise to turn off this or that setting), or a heavily modified environment.

As far as I read, the game loads the pre-generated world, and then apply any change you did prior when you move back to an area. This can be a strain if you built or terraformed a lot in this area.

Oh you mean a short hiccup?, your specs seem to be more than fine, however it is quite a heavy game which still requires quite some optimization. Try lowering some graphical details, seems to have worked with some issues i had, also increased my fps by 20 or so while i barely noticed any graphical decrease (weird ain't it).
