This is an FAQ not patch notes....

You should wait for the update unless you want to transfer your characters to a fresh map later, but that is as easy as logging out and logging back in. So, it's not a big problem.

There is one new thing in the lower biomes, but it's not really important until later.

The map generation for pre-mistlands and after mistlands is a LOT different. Mistlands in the beta generates easily triple the amount of mistlands on the map, and probably more, and reduces the amount of swamp and attendant crypts on the map (from a max of 400 crypts down to 175). The biomes are much more a collection of concentric rings with mistlands. (Not entirely of course, but there's a strong tendency towards rings) Only you can decide which version of world generation suits you more. For anyone in doubt I suggest you generate several worlds now to save for later so you have old-style worlds available should you ever want them.

What's new in meadows. I'm on swamps now and haven't seen this new thing from meadows.

They asked for no spoilers, but it isn't exactly a meadows thing. It just sort of ends up there sometimes by accident. If you're on the test server I'm pretty sure you've seen it by now.

It might be of interest to know that the map generates different when U start a new one now. Some locations (bosses/trader) move slightly or more, even and the Mistland areas are a little larger, and terrain in Mistlands is "better" on a new map.
