In swamp during day and attacked by wraith.
Kind of nice to get chain early but not a fun time in troll armor when I am scouting edges.
Was in swamp day before but headed back to black forest along edge. Went into a crypt before sunset, cleared and stayed the night there. Came out after the "Day xx" thing.
It was storming, thunder lightening etc. Entered edge of swamp and still had storm effects going on in swamp.. lightening was pretty cool but it stopped shortly. It was soon after that that I got attacked by multiple things at one time capped of with the wraith.
Now even if one spawned at night it should despawn during the day?
Did the storm carry over from the black forest trigger the daytime spawn like a serpent?
I did get my first wraith trophy drop though, don't think I ever got one in all my games.
Never modded my game.

i have played over 2000 hours and in that time have never seen a wraith in the day .
Only after the ice cave addition have they started appearing in the day time and on normal days.
So i have seen them, well killed them, lots now, during the day.
thanks devs, this is the best game i have ever played.
The fact that you can have a bran new game with a different seed means it is like a new game again. ie never get sick of the same place and situations.

Wraiths during the day were added in a recent patch. They're fairly rare, but as mentioned, will spawn at the wooden shacks found in the swamp. This was mentioned in one of the patch notes.

Really strange. I never had a wraith at day. And I never found one in a building at day. But then I've been playing mainly one seed and although this seed has lots of swamp, it still never happened to me.

Totally surprised by that honestly. The default thing for people saying they got kill by a wraith in the swamp was "Don't go there at night" but it can really happen.
I mean normally they are there at night ... but I just can't assume that now ha ha.
Just keep in mind, during the day, they are always inside.

I found like 3 wraiths in haunted buildings at day in 500 game hours ...so i guess thats right

I just opened up a new area that's mostly Black Forest and a little Swamp. It seemed like it wasn't quite night yet but 2 Wraiths came out of the Swamp while I was definitely in the BF. On top of that I've not found any structures as this piece of swamp is like a thin ribbon with BF on both sides. A couple of game days later at night I got accosted by 2 more Wraiths at the same time. Hello bellows!
imo the Wraith's sound effect is too much like some sort of bleating farm animal lol

Have to see if it happens again. Maybe it was supposed to work before like the blob and wolf event were broken originally and they just fixed it? Hard to tell with RNG.

Probably due to the storm. Congratulations on your wraith trophy! Since I don't like swamps to begin with, never mention at night, I've only ever fought one wraith so far. :D

Yeah the storm is best guess as well. Maybe the Wraiths and Serpents are in their own class of "specials" and can be spawned in storm during day... It is just that you don't normally get any weather effects in the swamp so that storm spawn of a wraith would be super rare. If intended at all!

I usually have enough chains, but lately I've been running out due to having to craft (and upgrade!) the black metal shield. I thought I could get chain in my latest crypt run, but not even one dropped. :P

Wraiths can show up during the day and haunt random shacks that you might find in the swamp. They have a rather large aggro range.

I actually enjoy the swamp so I do spend a lot of time in there and poking around.
Unless they changed things in recent patches and this is something new? IDK
I do like the changes I am seeing in the black forest crypts. Fewer mass core rooms and many more individual ones. Overall seeing fewer cores but still have way more than enough. So who knows what they may have changed up.

According to a dev on the ptr for the caves release, Wraiths have always had a chance to spawn during the day in buildings, however the chance is super low.
