Punch small trees, pick up wood lying around, pick up stones, and voila, you can make a basic hammer. Put the hammer in one of your numbered slots, and left click it, boom, now you see a menu of what you can build. Gather more wood, build a basic workbench, now make a small house, put a campfire in, put a bed in, voila! You can finally sleep!

find wood, find stone, find berries, find mushrooms, use TAB to make a hammer and an axe.

Everything is crafted.

Roof over workbench
interact with workbench to create better armor and upgrades

ok i managed to make a fire and put a cookiing thing on top of it, put a work bench but the building of a house is hard, cant seem to get anything to line up so i have a dozen roof pieces piled up just to use the workbench

Only arrows can be looted from chests , all the rest is crafted

point the mouse right at the edge<side or top> and it should snap into position

Basically, aim your mouse cursor to the edges and points of walls, doors, beams, etc to align them together. Certain things like angular roof tops, require a more precise way to align them, like a horizontal beam or a floor board.

Your favorite search engine will reveal a wealth of building tutorials. Even here on steam there is a "guide" section.

either that or check of the LFG section , join someone else's world or have them join yours, anyone you find should be able to show you some tricks
