Root armor

My character have 50 armor (because reasons) and using only 1 piece of root armor set. Guess what?

Yeah facetank mosquito does 13 dmg, fuling-1star with spear does about the same. This is the new easy mode in plains.
Just dont catch on fire and nothing will ever kill you, almost feels like cheating tbh.

I think it's just the mask that grans poison resistance. About the same amount as a potion. But I think it also stacks with the potion so I'll definitely do that when I fight Bonemass.
Mask gives 50% poison resist , potion 75% and not stack .
But with poison nerf now afected by defense its not a big problem

Mask grants poison resistance, chest piece resistance pierce all three gives +15 to bows or something like that

Yeah i ment headpiece for poison resistance, just mixed it up. Sorry.

Its acutally quite strange that legs only give the fire damage debuff.. and no bonuses.
would be really fun to know if the "weakness" stacks (for example 3x + 3x + 3x = 9x more fire damage taken) because 3 items in set.

Or if the extra damage taken is the same even though someone only uses 1 piece of the set.

I'm not trying to find out hahahaha

I plan to go for this armour with my newest character, skipping not only bronze but also iron and silver. It looks cool and the bonuses are really nice. Will combo with wolf cloak for Mountains, of course, once I get one.

Fire isn't an issue before Plains, except I'm sure I'll walk into my own fires and/or Surtling spawners... :steammocking:

Its only the chest piece that gives pierce resistance (almost immunity tbh) so for all you mosquito-haters, thats a pro tip.

Root Legs suposedly gives poison reststance, I am only using chest and feels like that gives some poison resistance too.. ?bugged? (Running without poison resistance potion and Im not dying to leaches and blobs though several hits taken)

I would say the "weakness to fire" is more like a fire damage x3 multiplier, would be fun to know if lets say each set piece stack this multiplier or if 1 set piece makes you take as much bonus fire damage as whole full set would.. anyone tested that?

Best game in a long time as far as I am concerned, I do not expect instant updates. especially during a worldwide epidemic.

Poison DoT was nerfed in H&H so it's not that scary now.

Torch and shaman fulings will wreck you if hits you xD

the root chestplate is great in the plains, but once you have the tools for padded armor it’s best to just rush that since root armor is completely unusable vs yagluth

I suppose it's good for venturing into the Plains when you're still at swamp-tier or something. Otherwise, as a melee parry player, full padded armor still wins for me.

First of all, padded isn't even that slow tbh. Plus, more armor points from it means more universal defense, which I prefer over mob-specific defense from the root armor.

The good thing about root armor is the bow skill bonus, but as the abominations came into the game as i already had padded armor and bow lvl 100, i don‘t really need/use that armor.

What happens if you miss your block vs. a 1 star sword fuling or a lox?

Root armor is good for plains. I use fully upgraded root set and squitos deal only 10 dmg. Combined with iron buckler, you are good against every enemy 1v1… however, when you find yourself fighting 2 or more fulings or a few loxes, you will go down with 1 or 2 wrong moves.
I use it only for exploring plains because it makes me faster. And it looks cool 😎
