Any major changes since the lukewarm hearth and home update?

Just checking back in on the game. Had a lot of fun with it but the devs seemed to have dropped it after raking in all that dosh.

Not exactly "scammed" but they haven't delivered on what they originally had on their roadmap for 2021. They literally had their roadmap posted along side the early access release announcement, which was posted on February 2, 2021.

A lot of people bought this game because the game had a solid foundation but also had a roadmap.

Now I understand that we've been going though the pandemic but even the developers themselves have said on record that the pandemic had most likely contributed to their massive success. They mentioned that a few times actually. So yeah, there was to be downsides of the lockdowns and everything but they've also gained more resources than any of them could have imagined from it too.

I remember talking to friends about this game and being excited over of how well it was doing because we felt like it would help propel the game forward, yet things have felt like they've gone backwards.

You agreed to that statement when purchasing an Early Access game. If you're not happy with having agreed to that, then you shouldn't have agreed to that.

What more is there to say?
why are people still ok with getting scammed by early access games? so many promising games never get updates because the devs cant be bothered to keep working after making big money at launch.

I don't call being entertained for a cost of pennies an hour 'getting scammed'.

Iron Gate didn't scam anybody... That is just ridiculous to even say that when they are clearly still working on the game... even recently opened a public alpha testing (via pass code) to test out their latest upcoming update to search for bugs etc.... I imagine that update is coming soon.

Just because the devs aren't working according to YOUR speed expectations, doesn't mean they aren't working... They are all working remotely (remember the pandemic?) and they are working exactly how they stated they would be working all along, and that is:

That they were not going to RUSH, and push out content just for the sake of getting content out (to please the impatient crowd) but rather they were going to work slow and steady and do things RIGHT the first time, to avoid having to re-work shoddy work that rushing would cause.

They haven't "scammed" anyone or "taken the money and ran" or any other theory the impatient players keep insisting...

fanboy alert - they really haven't done much at all with their time versus the amount of copies they sold

lets face it man, they put a grind in for what, a trash can? a glaring flaw with the game from day 1?

i wouldn't want to work on it anymore either though, fan expectations and toxicity

I'd be wiping my arse with $20 bills and drinking gamer tears too

They didn't even make the game, they bought it off some schmuck then became developers... To me it seems like they are more like extremely well paid modders, making tens of millions of dollars and still outpaced by modders injecting real content into the game (for free) that surpasses anything more than the so-called DEVs have done. 900+ hours in, thanks mods!

I'd really like a source on that - sounds juicy

that's really all you have to do though, is make a decent game and make it moddable. You can even double dip and re release it like skyryim every year too

No. The devs have a very slow speed and seem to not work on any internal deadlines or goals, which is disappointing. Expect this game to be fully done in three or four years, if they even care to go that far.

This game follows the Early Access rule so that, you buy this game for what contents it offers NOW. Never expect new contents until it's finally done AND released at last. Even the plans for Mistland are subject to change because it's not a promise from the devs.

That indicates there should be a road map as well, as per ethical early access games.
