fOG OVERKILL.
This game is probably 80% exporation, why in the hell would you implement a mechanic that just kills the game for 10-15 minutes I dont know what the timers are but come on .
When the so called mist? --Heavy fog horn fog moves in ,you literally cant do squat.
especially when you need to find markers but you CAN'T SEE SQUAT.But the gamer i am I move on and what is this .All mobs see you YOU and attack from everywhere .QQqoooo coool loving it-not really.please tone this mist, fog .it is killing the game for me personally.ok let the fanboys in now :).

A survival game mechanic. Thats my point when the fog moves in the game is pretty much unplayable. What kind of game mechanic is that?

There's a bit more to exploration than just looking where you want to go and going there. In fact, humans are good explorers precisely for the reason that we can imagine and deduce where to go even if we cannot see it: Most animals are not capable of displacement even if they can sense directions or signals better. You'll also still have access to your hearing and full sense of direction, including wind speed, GPS and satellite imaging. NPCs in the game are affected as well: You haven't really experienced fog without having walked up to a fuling and kicked them dead in the nuts (not sneaking).
Adverse weather exists to change gameplay. You can make camp and/or harvest firewood for future needs no matter your situation, or you can exit the biome and go elsewhere since weather (mostly?) occurs based on biomes, not regions or landmasses.
Temporary fog is fun compared to persistent mist, but we can overcome both.

The mobs are more attracted by sound than sight so when its foggy or a blizzard go into sneak mode and take your time or as mentioned above do other tasks like cooking, planting, stocking up on arrows, smelting, producing charcoal, building, repairs, tending tame animals or even taming newly captured animals. You can also change locations. Weather is localized.

It can be irritating, but honestly slowly sailing between swamp and the plains, in the narrow passage, carefully looking ahead and on the sides, being well undergeared for a swamp and just praying to god that this river leads to the opening to ocean and not to the dead end which will end my life - was one of the most thrilling experiences I had in gaming for ages... I genuinely felt myself like old times explorer, treading somewhere where no man sailed before... with heart beating up... fighting the urge to just turn my karve around and sail back to safety... (if I can find the way back and avoid that sea serpent I luckily escaped the first time)...
And finally, the night is over, fog clears out slowly, I look up ahead and see the vast field of ocean ahead. It was such a relief and joy... really enjoyed myself there.

The fog can be a bit annoying at times. If I'm out exploring, and it starts to move in, I run to the nearest hut, building, fort - whatever is the closest and wait it out. I hate being out in it, but it's part of the game, so I just deal with it.

Meh, I hear what you're saying, but part of what I find interesting about this game are the weather extremes. I like that the ocean can become so rough that a raft cannot navigate. It's cool that the mist (sometimes) becomes so dense, getting any exploration done can be a pain. Are there other projects you can do in these instances? Delve into a dungeon, or work on a building project?
You can also adjust these settings yourself in your graphics options :-)
