if it was intended, then metal would be portalable. You can rant about “b-b-but the devs didn’t say it was,” yet the fact remains that it only exists as a consequence of not tying users to worlds. It’s as much of a cheat as clipping into swamp crypts using a chair before you get the key. If you can‘t clear your conscience without knowing if the devs have ever written in verbatim that it’s cheating, then I suggest you don’t do it at all, because it sounds like you don’t want to cheat.

In regards to world hopping, I believe it was said that this is just how the game works via world and character saves and there's nothing they can do about. So world hopping isn't meant to be but they can't do anything about it so just do what you want then.

If you can do it then it's a game mechanic that you can either use and abuse or decide it's a cheese you prefer not to eat.

Even if you find such proof it won't shut anybody up. People enjoy arguing too much to quit.

I think you may mean hopping, though we are all hoping someday to have metals go through portals. Until then, we hop, a hopping we will go - and we also hope. English is so fun.

If the game allows it, then it's no one else's business what you do on a solo seed. If you are playing with others, then the group rules rule. For those that want to be the new sheriff in town, have a good time. Letting strangers on the internet feed you with guilt and angst isn't worth a sneeze.

You mean going to a home server, grabbing loot and bringing it to a server your starting over on?
Whats even the point then. just stay on the other server. People can play how they want but yea, when a group of players are starting a fresh game its super lame when one guy jumps to a beat server and gets their endgame gear. insta beat the game for what?

Sorry Sub I had and frustrated.. not only not finding anything but those players trying to label people Cheaters for playing a way that may have been intended.. or at least allowed... And listening to Pantera (Well Jinjer now) so no excuse thought you was just piling on.

Why does it matter? Play the way you want to, it's your game. If other players call one thing cheese/cheating then what makes them the authority on the subject? Absolutely nothing. Do what you feel like doing to maximize your enjoyment of the game.

well its on a conversation of ideas for the DEVs and some would like to see us striped of server hoping or portaling.. I think choice fine.. but this elitist idea I am cheating for not playing your way has always bugged me so thought Id try to find something to shut them up... or so I know.. since I just dropped another 70 for our server for the next 6 months.. if the Devs feel its cheating that could have implications..

I can give one little tidbit that most certainly came from the devs. Back in 2021 to access dev commands you had to press F5 and then type in "iamacheater". That was later changed to "devcommands".

Who gives a damn what the purist players think though? It's not a competition. My second play through after losing my entire game due to the "cloud save" bug, I added mods and play with portals can transport metals on. Because my time is worth more than their feelings on how I play. :)

But there's no hard and fast rules on how to play this game. Do what's fun for you. If Dev's didn't want this modded or cheesed they would've disabled these things already.
