Bonemass seems really nerfed!

Just took down Bonemass (about 6 times) again in a new world with friends. For two of them it was their first try.

It was too easy. Granted some of us had silver gear, he didn't seem to scale much at all in terms of hp. His damage output seemed similar though.

But worst was the adds. He only throws 2 skeletons now per throw! Wow, totally negligible. What happened to the blobs (not that they aren't negligible just more is better). I'm not sure if the number used to scale with players.

Was fun but I have to admit I was quitedisappointed. I thought this would be a more epic encounter. I'd like to think Bonemass has more "raid boss" elements compared to the others. Hoping Moder and Yagluth will be better. (Eikthyr and Elder went down too fast as well). But hey, easier to farm trophies...

The difficulty of the boss gets set when the boss is activated and spawned.

If one person gets there first and spawns him he will only have one person difficulty. When others teleport in or come in range then any boss can be a pushover as the difficulty is locked at what he was spawned in as.
We were all there for the summon. 5 players. And Bonemass STILL only summons 2 skeletons.

Bonemass is supposed to overwhelm you with the adds he spawns, the rain, and the swamp itself.

Bonemass is a fight of patience, but if anybody start's sequence breaking the game, they shouldn't even be participating in the fight. It just ruins the experience for everybody else.

It is possible to kill Bonemass solo, with just Troll Armor, and a level 4 Club. Sounds stupid, but there's a lot of advantages you get when choosing this loadout. Trying to block or parry will drain your stamina, using an iron mace will use too much stamina per swing and might leave you vulnerable for a full on hit, and the Troll armor maintain's your movement speed to move away from Poison quicker. That 10% of movement speed is just enough to help you get away from "the big puke attack" every time. And best of all, you didn't have to CHEAT and get Silver.

I would say none of the bosses are raid bosses, in any form, comparing this to games like Monster Hunter where the boss actually attacks everybody at once. These bosses don't even attack faster, or have lower cooldowns, or more attacks, they are just.. big enemies.

Yeah, I guess it's just something to consider when the guys and I put a server up again. But it's really noticeable since after Hearth and Home how quick Bonemass was going down and how his adds got reduced to 2 skellies(this is just nuts).

well... most of the bosses are easy. that's just how the game is.
you can kill eikthyr naked. you only need to learn to dodge his attack
same thing with elder (or you can cheese him by hiding behind pillars and shooting arrows)
the only challenging part of bonemass is it's poison cloud. which is hard to avoid if you're melee player. but as a ranged you can just build a tree house and there will be nothing it can do.
same with moder. everything is easy to avoid. and you can kill her fairly easy even as melee. it'll just take a bit longer then a bow. so the only challenge will be from other monsters that may visit your fight (especially golems)
not sure about yagluth though. the boss itself is easy. and i've killed him a couple of times solo... but i've read that his hp regen scales with the number of players. so it might be a problem in a big group. (as a tip to make fight easiers: lure him in a position so that there will be obstacle between his back and meteors he summon (he always summon them behind him). this will negate a lot of his damage. everyhting else is eikthyr 2.0)

i think if you really want "raid boss" experience you might wanna try mods. i believe "creature level and loot control" makes bosses a 5* monsters. and it can also add few interesting modifiers: like twins - 2 bosses instead of 1 with shared hp pool. or summoner - calls adds from time to time. etc.
yes, it's not vanilla. but it makes process of killing same boss multiple time more interesting.
