The only mod I have installed is MassFarming because being able to plant multiple crops at once is such a massive quality of life improvement.
I second mass farming. If you want the play as close to vanilla as possible, but hate manually planting and picking up food, this one mod is a great quality of life improvement. It's best used alone if you want to preserve as much of the vanilla game experience as possible...

I find the drawers mod to be a game changer. Revolutionizes storage/ base design.
As others have said, mass farming, and farm everything. For village deco you'll love farm everything, You can plant trees. bushes, lighted yellow mushroom paths, etc.
Epic Loot is fun.
If you don't like portal restrictions, there are mods for that.
There is a mod that adds a few equipment slots for your gear. Get it.
I like the clock mod.
Later on you might like the wind at your back mod for sailing.
Just poke around Nexus Mods. There are tons, many will suit your play style. Try them out. They are easy to add or remove once you know where your .dll files go.
Re: Carry weight. Carts work well on finished paths/ roads. If you are building a village, a cart is your friend. Not so much in the pathless wilderness though. Also, if you want to focus on building, learn the devcommands to set your time of day, or for clear weather. Takes a lot of the time pressure off. You can always turn the time and weather back on when you are done building.

You will be able to get an extension later on to your max weight that you are allowed to carry. No need for mods.
Always be prepared that mods can break once an update for Valheim is released and that you may not be able to play that character until an update for that specific mod is released.

Valhiem Plus should be your first stop. It has a lot of different things you can change. It will do carry weight and inventory and a lot of other stuff. You have to go into a text file to change settings, but it's pretty self-explanatory once you get in there. Backup the file and rename it before you mess with it just in case. V+ also has some settings to make building placement easier, and can speed resource collection if you're more interested in building.
I also use Vortex as a mod manager and that works pretty well. It will automatically get everything where it needs to go when downloading from Nexus.
V+ doesn't have any graphic changes in it, so just look around on Nexus. I think there are a few that improve the textures in game if you don't like the pixel look.
Personally, I also use farm grid so my plants snap to a grid when planting and I don't have to worry about putting them too close together. You still need to clear rocks and things out of the way.
I also have Dodge on Double Tap, but that one is a bit iffy since it hasn't been updated recently. I haven't found a substitute for it yet. V+ will let you map roll forward and roll backward, but it's not as convenient.

Sure, but I wonder if manually installing mods with BepInEx is not better while the game is under development. At least, you know what you add, and where you put files. I don't know with Vortex, but BepInEx allows to install mods outside of Valheim and even Steam folders, and you can disable all mods by just changing a line in main config file, but I presume that this later functionality is even easier with Vortex. I also use Vortex as a mod manager and that works pretty well. It will automatically get everything where it needs to go when downloading from Nexus.
That means that you are sure that Valheim install folder is always clean. And you'll never post about a bug caused by most recent game's update.

Alright:
- Denikson's BepInEx Package for Valheim, with plugins:
FullScreenToggle, EnableResize, InputHotKeyBlock, MessageCenter, MuteInBackground, OptimizedMGUI, Utility-Master
(not that I use them, just in case)
- Daccaor's GraphicsConfigPlus
(to manually tune more finely Unity's graphic settings, a must on low end systems, until the game is optimized)
- Aedenthorn's Custom Audio with "plugin":
Realistic Animal Sounds (RAS)
(you now, deers, but also boars and wolves)
- Aedenthorn's GrassTweaks
(to alter density and size of vanilla grass and bushes. I want more of them because I don't have DX11 nor ground texture)
- a couple of other mods in testing prior to adoption.

Vortex shows me all my mods in a handy menu, and it will open the associated folder if I tell it to. So I know what's installed and I can easily find out where. I can disable or uninstall any mod easily from the menu. It can check for updates and tell me if there's a different version, which installing manually won't do. It even handles BepinEx for me.
It will handle any mod on Nexus whether it's Valheim or something else. I don't see anything in your list of advantages that Vortex doesn't cover.
If you like installing mods manually, then do that, but Vortex is good at what it does.

Okay, it functions as other mod managers I used for other, older games, then. Well, except for the updating functionality obviously, as they were strictly offline mod managers.

Why not try it without mods first?
