Yeah, even when I still refuse to play mistlands I love the game. Mistland is just one part of the game that forces me out. And I thought the abominations in swamps suck...

I totally feel you.. i quited 3 months ago, after 220 hours of gameplay, because i died in area crawling with thicks and bugs + in midle of mistland pool and i forgot to build port, so i had to do new character, took my previous gear, went for body (just to get there i was sailing for 1,5hours, than i died there 3 times with new character aswell, before i got my gear back..),but after all that im back again, and i will always be back into this game, its really masterpiece, hope they newer stop making new zones (dont wana mod the game, i only play what original game offers me) :DD and i agree, abomination sucks, sanked my ship once, came from nowhere and i died when runing by leeches poison xD sometime you jusut have to quit the game when it becomes too much for your nerwes, calm yourself, and than return.

I've never seen one in a ruin, only in the mines. Yagluth stones are still harder to find. I think in 900+ hours over multiple characters I have found maybe 3 stones in total, maybe less.

If you are desperate, look up your map online though it kinda spoils things.

The markers are inside the mines. There are several places they can spawn, but no guarantee of how many you will find if any at all. (I found 5 inside one mine once.) They can be in secret rooms, at the bottom of the seeker well rooms, up on a wall in the giant cavern rooms, or tucked in a little alcove.

Pretty sure they're only in the infested mines, that's where i found my ones. Though finding the mines is a pretty big pain at times. You have to check anywhere there's flat ground, be it on low ground, or on top of a cliff. Also try listening to any seeker idle sounds, if you hear some, check it out as it may lead to a mines. Make sure to explore denser mistlands too, thin and scattered ones usually don't have much space to house a building, so it's important to look out for that. Places where i did see the visvigir where in the seeker soldier rooms, and the room that goes to a drop into a pool of liquid. Though i imagine you're double checking every infested mine you come across at this point.

If worst comes to worst, go to the valheim map website, and put in your seed. And if you're wanting no "spoilers", then untick everything and make the terrain fogged, and just select the boss stones box.
