Might want to check if you turned something off in video settings, effect might be tied to that.

Same issue. I am modded but I can't be bothered turning them off. You seem to need to be quite close for the sparkle to show up, which is kinda pointless.

Yeah, always the first question--are you using a mod? If so, disable it/them and then see if you still have the issue. They sparkle for me but I'm not using any mods.vanilla

surely a bug, assuming this is happening in a completely unmodded game. Mine sparkle, I think, but I can double check it.
