i just want to avoid situation where i make smoething he cant make given the similar items. Example: if you run around picking up things from different biomes either off monsters or off the ground. But you cant actually make anything with them untill you have beaten a boss. but as i have already beaten that boss on my character, i can make it.. and he would wonder where i got that item from.

Examples: finewood bow need bronze axe, but you could roll other tree's on it and farm the wood that way.
Troll is hard to kill while in medows, but doable. i could get its mats early.. do the recipes unlock on picking up the troll hide? or when accessing crafting station with bronze upgrades needed to unlock it.

But i think i have the answer somewhere from your replies, so thank you..

If you don't bring along any items, the only way to make the items, is to collect the items in that world. If you collected things to make something, those are the exact same materials he would need to make the same thing. The thing is, you can see beforehand what you need to collect, basically like playing the game with a wikipedia, which doesn't matter as you already remembered most of that stuff anyway.

Long story short?, it doesn't matter.

Following my instructions above gives you exactly this. You get the skills ot help in the intial difficult areas but the recipes this Toon of yours will have will be identical to what they have

What you need to do Zolfried (if I am reading your pots correctly IE you wants some skills but it recipes?)
Is premake a new toon on you own machine and use Dev commands to raise the skills to what you consider a reasonable level THEN joint as your friend's craftsman.

Resources you pick up unlock the ability to craft the things that you can make with them. If you have started a new world, then you can only build with what you have on hand. You said you stripped your inventory, and I'm hoping that means your equipment, too; Make sure your friend picks up every new resource you find, and there should be no issues.
