2 Star Draugers... can they be blocked?

I just tried blocking one twice with my bronze buckler... he cut through me like a knife through butter.

The scariest two star mob I have seen so far was a two star seeker soldier. Luckily they are poor climbers but omg are they brutal lol.

Obviously the scariest mob is going to be the heavy hitter in whatever the latest biome is. I think the most dangerous mob relative to the gear + food one level below the biome they live in is indeed the 2* draugr archer. They are ranged and can easily one shot you at that level.

As mentioned above, the 2 star mages may actually be even scarier than this one even relative to the biome, but since they aren't hostile I don't include them.

These types of questions are best answered when you have 'no skill drain' activated. I like to put a portal down near an enemy who's parry-ability I want to test. When I die, I run to my portal room, grab my best shield / food, and have at it. Turns out you can parry almost anything. I only say almost because I haven't got the best gear in-game yet.

If you are unsure *don't Eff around and find out!* It's so easy to get into a situation where you get stun-locked and you're megascrewed.

But yes, as has been said, 99.99% of everything physical can be parried with the right gear/timing.

Just remember: 0.5% of your block skill is added to your BLOCK ARMOR stat on your shield. Multiple that number by your PARRY MULTIPLIER. As long as that number is higher than the damage the enemy does (and you have enough stam / stagger), you'll parry.

Im pretty sure you can parry literally all mobs with the carapace buckler. The black metal shield should be enough for all no star mobs, perhaps even all 1 star mobs.

It would seem there are a couple of 2* enemies capable of damage exceeding 300-400, but those encounters are rare indeed. It might be possible to parry them in right circumstances, such as being under effects of the Forsaken powers to reduce incoming damage, and having very high HP and block skill. But generally speaking, there are no unblockable directed attacks in the game. Some AoE stuff cannot be blocked.

What kind of enemies can deal damage in the 300-400 range? I thought even 2* berserkers have a max at 260, and 2* seeker soldiers also in that ballpark.

A pvp krom stab(special attack) is the only one I can think of, almost killed me when I was testing that with my brother.

Well, as always, when dealing with questions of high damage output in fantasy setting, the answer is mages[valheim.fandom.com]. :p

I don't know exactly how their attacks work, though, and I'm not willing to test it myself... at this time.

Makes sense, I never fought them. But I can imagine them being tough as nails. Good too, because if you choose to fight a non hostile mob there should be consequences.

Yes, most everything physical can be blocked. Maybe not with the gear you have available at this time, though -- it may take a higher level shield and foods to handle a ** enemy. For * and ** enemy that are at your highest / active progression biome, I highly suggest you roll or step backwards instead. Or run away :)

They deal 96 pierce or slashing damage. If you have max upgraded bronze buckler (upper limit 105) and very high block skill, and a large amount of HP, it's doable, but that scenario is probably too unlikely to seriously consider. However, the iron buckler starts from where bronze buckler ends up, and if you upgrade it to the full, you should be able to parry them even with zero skill in block.

Yes but it has to be a parry. Without parry blucker is 28 armor max. This would require you to have endgame levels of max HP to not get cut through the block.

With parry you have 70+ block armor so its within normal food levels at that point. But you need to prioritize hp food. Problably you'd want max HP be at least 90 for that parry. Preferably above 100.

Afair, within resonable progression of other things, the highest i've managed to parry with bronze was lox stomp which is 120 dmg, but not the bite which is 130 dmg. 2star Draug should be around 100.
