I use the sword personally, but I can't say whether or not it's "better" than the rest.

I am still using an axe. Just made iron axe and put my bronze one up. I will end up switching to the battle axe soon.

I thought spear would be the standard poke technique not this violent downward thrust, so I was a bit miffed at that. The throw is neat but then I miss and I am stuck with Fisticuffs.

I carry all weapons so I can manage all damage resistances.

I find Bow really good, the bonus sneak damage helps a lot while you're out and about exploring. Easy enough to usually kite more difficult enemies. Plus the feel of arcing that arrow just right for long distance is cool, though I feel the arrow drop is a tad excessive.

Am using a bronze ax atm but i want to try the sword. My friend uses it and loves it. It's a little faster and has a secondary attack.

I have limited xp with the 2h weapons. I tried them but the damage per sta cost didn't seem worth it. I ran out of sta killing one dwarf. Now... that may change if you get higher skill in them, my skill was 1-2 so results may vary.

The dagger i've only used for laughs thus far, though i've heard it does crazy damage from sneak, capable of one shotting stuff. It's fast and really cheap on sta. It kills the weaker dwarfs just fine but not sure how it'd fair against harder mobs.
On an off note. the secondary attack is a leaping stab. it's oddly satisfying to sneak up to a deer and leap out of the bushes onto it's back and one shot it. lol

Bow is great for anything outside that's not being to squirrely in it's pathing.

Aslo, this game loosely follows the D&D rules when it comes to weapon and monster types.

Skeli and blobs are weaker against blunt damage

Trolls are weaker to piercing

Dwarfs are weaker to slashing

Bow "Killing from afar" + The reward for getting good with them is fantastic really satisfying to kill from long range

Bow & Axe FTW.

Bow and Mace is so far the best combo i can find. why mace you might ask i would do the same so here is why!
its the only weapon that have an attack that hit things below or above you, that middle mouse attack can hit things when no other weapon can :)

mace secondary attack with shield parry is the best combo in my opinion

I tried it and was out of sta before killing one dwarf. (yes i hit it)

It has two attacks.
The poke and this giant aoe that hits everything around you.

I can kill normal dwarfs and shamans in 2 hits (this includes 2 aoe sweep attacks)
Brutes in 3 hits.
and 1-2 star creatures in 2-4 hits

yeah, i had high hopes for the aoe one but all it did it take everything to 1/4 life and leave me with no sta.
And the normal attack did kill one guy in 2-3 hits but again, i was out of sta after one mob.

Perhaps it's one of those weapons that you have to keep yourself fooded up to use. I can kill several mobs with the base 25 hp/sta with my ax.

That is pretty much on par with the bronze axe, as far as killing things.

One hit most things that are not 1 star. Two hits for 1 star. Three for brutes. Thereabouts.

No Idea, but until I got this weapon I feared going into the darkwoods during the night to mine stuff. Now that I have this weapon, I have no concerns at all..
It seems to wipe out everything really easily. Most things die in 1-2 hits some of the star'd creatures take 2-4

Yeah but the polearm has a sweeping aoe which hits everything in a circle around you, it makes wiping up mobs of enemies really quick and easy IMO...

The polearm only has a block of 10 though. When you get a perfect parry with the shield then use the middle click of a sword or mace, you can nearly 1 shot. Have been using iron polearm for a while and the amount of damage you take to get the damage off doesn't seem worth it. Will be swapping to sword/mace & shield, with a bow when I can.
