The biggest one you could get is probably the altar to spawn The Elder. It is indestructible too, perfect for a "cave" base.

the ground a 2d height map, not unsimilar to doom 1-2
but insted of sprites it uses 3d models for all objects

you can mine a hole through rocks or use the logs to make a path across
