Hopefully we can make our stuff bigger and better when the sandbox mode comes out but it is a very terrifying bug, ive had jobs that i worked less hours than put into this castle. It is what it is though and can prove as a valuable life lesson! backup files are smart! :D

Actually, you can show screenshots in discussion.

The way you put in a screenshot is like this:
1) Go to your screenshots in Content under your username.
2) Click once on a screenshot.
3) You should see a line in the window header something like this:
"http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=604433678"
4) Copy that address.
5) Paste that address in your message on a line all its own.

That should get you the clickable thumbnail in the message, like so:

Did the state of the save reverted? Do you still have the resources?
Or did it "unload" the castle from that chunk, leaving it looking as if you didn't even touch the ground there?

I assume it might be an issue on map save part. Possibly, too much stuff appeared there the game couldn't save all the changes?

When a glitch ate all your resources, you are totally justified to spawn all those resources back with developer console commands.

It reverted to an old save i believe but it still showed the bed sign that was where the castle was, all the changed environment aswell as the resources are gone, its not just the resources i care about, its the hours i put into it, if i could show screenshots in discussion i would, but there is almost no way id put this many hours to rebuild if it might just disappear again

So if it is indeed a reverted save, is there anyway of re-reverting it? Why would a bug like this even exist i am so frustrated at this its incredible, i was planning on making a big video and i bet it was even one of the tallest structures ever made, i used every trick in the book to make it the tallest, iron support made an iron roof so i could make a raised stone floor, and on top of that i made wooden structures on the stone floor/roof.

And yes i did load up the right world :D

The folder with the save file has ".old" files. I assume they keep the world state before save. I'm not sure if you loading the world destroyed that data already, or not.

Unfortunately this did not work both saves had been reverted. Very very very upsetting, i hope Valheim fixes these types of bugs, but at least this serves as a valuable lesson to backup my save data. Sadly i don't think i will be doing anything like this for a very long time as a result

Thanks for all your sympathy and ideas hopefully you guys are backing up the saves you care about right now!
