Dissapearing Tombstone?

Died on a pretty steep hillside. Immediately went back to my death spot as I had an outpost not too far away and there's no tombstone? Is this bug still a legitimate thing? I guess I can use the console to spawn all my gear back in but it's a bit disheartening knowing that if I want to be 100% legit sometimes you just get boned out of weeks of work because your tombstone is removed or rng makes it fall through the world.

Twice we have thought we lost tombstones and both times it was in the mountain biome. We eventually found them quite some distance from where we assumed we had died. It seems on mountain biomes due to the topography with the extreme contours, tombstones can end up quite a distance from where the perceived death took place, especially if one was running and jumping at the time.

Same here - nothing. The tombstone just disappeared. We even attempted to restart the server, and still no luck.

Being "100% legit", can be difficult in an Early Access game. It falls you to determine if spawning your missing items back in is legit or not.

True, I guess I forget that Valheim is still EA. I suppose it's fine to just make do. When 1.0 comes out I can try to do everything aboveboard.

I've not ever experienced a tombstone disappearing and I've been playing since the game came out. Are you sure you are looking in the right location?

Yes, I happened to die on a pit after falling into it, and there was no tombstone near the cross bones sign on the map. It just disappeared.

Yeah, I was right on the edge of a plains biome on a steep hill. I had an outpost within a 60 second run.

this happen to me and my gf when a troll snuck up on us and we wouldn't find her tombstone after it one shot her we both thought it took her loot, til i found it here recently so it seems like the just vanish took me ~ 1 week to find it

Yeah, nothing. I turned on ghost mode and did a grid search of the entire area, up to 100 meters out each direction from the death marker, just nothing. Guess I'm stuck spawning in all my equipment I can remember having and calling it a loss.
