question about version numbers
my buddy on console shows version 0.215.3 , while I'm on version 0.215.2, could that be a reason for not being able to play with each other? We can't seem to get on the same server.

Yes, that is most definitely it. You need to update. Or maybe you have your settings to use the old version.
