Did you start a new game with the Mistland Public Beta? I read that the new Mistlands wont spawn as intended on worlds made before the Mistlands Beta update (not 100% sure but close...).

You wait 10 years for them to update the game with meaningful content which they haven't done in years.

ive never heard of mistlands... i havent played in a very long time thou, was meadows, plains, mountains, and black forest (?) last time i played

Mistlands isn't out yet, but it's being worked on. Assume that it's spoiled when you get close to it. You will have better luck looking to other hidden islands when the update happens.

i don't quite follow you, so it is in game but something happens if i try to explore? how do i know what it is if i stumble upon it? weird for it to be in game but not explorable, if i read correctly...

Valheim loads the map as you explore it, meaning unexplored areas do not exist. Mistlands can be entered like every biome but NOTHING is in it, as it is not made yet.

Don't fret there's a butt load of other islands out there with mistlands, there is a load distance of roughly 2 fog reveal distances, this distance varies pending what your system has decided to load in but basically that distance will have loaded and going by what has been said will remain as is

According to GamesRadar, it seems that Mistlands will contain moths, but that doesn't necessarily mean spiders are totally out of the picture as others have mentioned. On a similar note, some species of moths make massive clusters of webs. So it's possible the Mistlands could be about giant moths.

I heard rumours that it's not the spiders we will have to worry about. You will soon™ get to know some entity that is responsible for the demise of spiders!

That thing definitely makes me think "spider" when I see it... but I got over my spider issues years ago.

Just don't ask me to eat dog food in a game... don't ask...

There are mods for that, like "Monsternomicon" adds tons of new mobs and of course spiders for Mistlands... and it fits really well!

One of the devs confirmed on Discord that spiders are not planned. Of course plans can always change but currently we don't expect 8 legged creatures to be added.
