Yes it is enough. You did nothing wrong. Sadly, there is a persistant bug in the game where animals can phase through walls, it has something to do with draw distances with structures loading out but the animals arent, allowing them to roam for a brief moment before they are culled in rendering too when you get farther away. It seems to happen much more frequently when playing online. Maybe check around outside somewhere though it's likely it was killed by a mob.

It's an annoying bug and a problem since the first version of the game came out, and is a known issue but for some reason there doesn't seem to be any plans to fix it which is frustrating. Until then, make redundant fences and barricades so if it slips through one you can still reasonably get it back. It's very stupid we have to resort to that.

Thank you! Yes chick disappeared when i was playing with a friend, had no problem while soloing. Thank you! I'll make sure to make a double or triple wall/fence around the barn. Thanks again!
