If you don't allow for PvP, they cannot harm you. It is still advised to rather join them "fresh" and naked.

Mind, they will still be able to loot your corpse, if you die and they happen to get to it first. At least as far as I know.

Oh, and they will totally be able to wreck your base and steal everything from you once you get situated.

If you use the dedicated server, you can leave the password blank in the script that starts the server.

Just sharing a world from the client with no password is not possible, I'm afraid.

No, the dedicated server is a program you can download and install on your computer. There a several guides available in the guides section on Steam on how to install and use it. Some minor computer knowledge may be required.

The game will autosave for you. The current save system is kinda broken, so I would definitely recommend start doing personal backups. I would also highly recommend to turn off Steam Cloud in the global settings.

There is currently a test patch out that is supposed to fix the issue with saves as well as overhauling it pretty much completely. I can attest to it that it is now much less intrusive and it will also create local backups (default 4) so you have a higher chance on retrieving your world or character in case they get corrupted.

It should come out "soon(tm)".

So apparently i can make multiplayer room but it has to have a password ? In essence i must inv people and give them the password ?

i wish they ad least make it so i can set a level cap so if i inv randoms they don't come in with high level and kill everything i havnt made it to yet. Im new just starting out

i dont even know if things will respawn or how it works in this game. Some games high level guys can ruin ur first play through , but idk how this game works

This game has coop, which means you need to play it with some people you can trust. A level requirement would not help (no levels), as even a naked "level 1" guy would be able to completely destroy your base, steal everything you have and so on. Even wards would not protect you from that.

Some things respawn (enemies, pickables), others do not (mainly ore, trees).

Edit: There are possibilites to protect ones server, but they require you first to host a dedicated server, then you need to add the right mods to it AND you need to be able to configure the mods correctly.

If you - by your own admission - are not very computer savvy, then I would suggest to not try it, unless you see it as a chance to learn something. And be prepared to get utterly wrecked.

ok so somebody could come in and take bunch good ore from my map and resources and leave and it never respawns... ouch ! ok guess i must have trusty people

any risk in jumping into someones dedicated room ? Can they kill me and take my gear ? if so can i just leave it in my world and join them naked ?
