I was concerned with skipping skulls too, but after finding one I realized they are pretty obvious. You could be unlucky with only finding ribs, just remember the ribs texture is the same as skulls.

Also, you can get soft tissue from dvergers and their crates if you are unable to find skulls.

The skulls always have ticks near them so be on the look out for them. Provided a gjall wasn't nearby and dropped some ticks then they are a clear indicator that you are near a skull.

From what I have seen a good sized Mistlands biome will have about 3-4 skulls in it spread around.

Some skulls are found in active blue dwarf mining camps. You need to kill the dwarfs before you can mine it though, sadly.

It might just look like a huge round black rock from a certain angle. I have found one mostly buried in the ground once too.

That's rough. It does show up in the crates, though, and sometimes drops from Dvergr.

If you don't want to slaughter them yourself, I've found gjall and starred seekers are pretty effective at clearing them out.

most dverger crates have a couple units in ‘em. Sorry about your tough luck with the skulls, i have personally been finding a lot of those…

The skulls have been the hardest thing to find. Thankfully, I've managed to find 4 of them exploring four or five mistlands areas. Most of the skulls I've found have been connected to ribs cages. At one area there was a skull/ribs at a Dvergr site but I was spared the moral dilemma by the Gjell.

I was lucky and had enough skulls in first Mistlands area.
But yeah, dvergr crates contain small amount of soft tissue and sometimes the dvergr drop one when killed.

Look for the ribcages in the mist. They are tied to the skulls with the soft tissue brains.

Sadly not all of them, sometimes you just find a ribcage :(

I don't remember ever finding a ribcage without skull, but I've seen some remains with the skulls partially buried or embedded into terrain.

I'm running into that too. I'll revisit some ribcages to see if I missed the skull. Thanks.

Yeah, for me there has always been a skull but alot of times it is embedded into the side of a mountain and you can only dig so far.

I have never found a rib cage that didn't have a skull and I have found dozens of them.

Also, if you do find a skull, make sure you dig down and clear out the entire brain space... there's more tissue there than I first thought.
