ashlands flametal: future state?

ashlands is unique compared to deep north and mistlands due to the presence of flametal in the unfinished biome.

will flametal have a purpose going forward, or will the devs retcon it to prevent abuse? anyone can go into ashlands right now, fight pushover surtlings, and horde all the flametal they want. if part of ashlands progression is having to work to gain flametal, hording it ahead of time will affect that.

anyway, just wanted to point this out. obviously each player can decide for themselves whether to use an exploit like that, but its unique and not previously seen in the game up to this point.

I would also wonder about going to the Ashlands early on a map and exploring a lot of it. Then on release count that since it was already explored it wouldn't have the new content but may be suitable place for new agriculture in a way not intended either. I had a old Mistlands map like that where I could potentially grow mushrooms uninterrupted by seekers.

At the end of the day though people can only cheat themselves. As long as they are enjoying the game what anybody else is doing shouldn't impact your fun or your experience. The game has far too many ways to "abuse" it available but again since it isn't really a competitive game it doesn't really matter.

i find that previously explored mistlands still spawns enemies. but without mist and rocks, its certainly easier.

The issue with previously explored biomes is that the needed instances like abandoned mines, frost caves etc.. will not spawn so if you explore all of the ashlands then this might become an issue.

If you really want to just cheese and get a bunch of flametal just use commands and give yourself as much as you want.. that's essentially what you are doing anyways.

Devs don't run any servers so morality is the players concern, not the devs.

And yes, this exploit is meaningless to patch when devcommands exist.
