THe "Looking For Group" forum might be a better place for you to seek such help! Good luck, and don't become dog chow!

Anytime your computer just barely meets the minimum req's you're not going to have very smooth gameplay. Throw in that its an EA game, and an open world survival at that and you're going to start to have even more problems when you build/over-build in an area. The fact that you have a laptop also makes this worse.
Realistically, unless you plan to get a new laptop/computer with higher specs, you're going to run into this problem with most games. So either upgrade or learn to live with it.
I'm running on a 1070ti and i have no problems out in the world, but i have overbuilt my base area and get horrible fps dips, but i love the game so just live with it. Until i can actually buy the parts for a new machine that is, which at this point seems like it'll never happen.

It runs poorly on a gtx 1080ti as well. I get the same framerate in red dead 2 at 2k resolution as valheim. If you are getting really bad performance problems lower you screen resolution in the game. Dropping from 1080 to 720 cuts your video cards workload significantly since it has so many fewer pixels to fill. If you have an ssd in your laptop install the game there since the response time is similar to RAM speeds. Couldnt hurt.

Well I think you should get a better system or refund it if it's not playable on your laptop.

Having an I7 doesn't necessarily mean you meet the minimum processor specs, some have a base frequency as low as 1.0 GHz so if you have turbo boost disabled, or it's not kicking in, or it just doesn't work well (or at all) with the game, then your CPU speed is going to be way below the minimum and you'll have issues.

You have the bare minimum of ram, and it's a laptop, so that's not good either.

Your GPU is a mid-range GPU that is known to struggle with some games such as PUBG even on low settings.

It's very likely your computer is at least part of the problem here but keep in mind that the game is in early access and is not fully optimized. Once it's actually finished you may find your performance improves a lot.

There are a lot of forum posts with tweaks and suggestions to boost FPS and performance, use the search feature from the main Valheim forum page and try some of the simpler fixes to see if they help.
